Terms of Use
Last updated 28 October 2026 (version 1.0)
These terms are the agreement between you and us for using Instadreams. We have kept them as short and plain as the law allows. Please read them, especially the parts about the alarm (section 4) and our liability (section 13).
The short version
- Your dreams are yours. We use them only to run the app for you.
- The alarm is good, but your phone can still stop it. Don't rely on it alone when missing a wake-up would really matter.
- Recording is free. Some extras may cost money later, and you will always see the price first.

1. About these terms
Instadreams is run by Selfound Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16450921), registered office Unit 82a James Carter Road, Mildenhall, Bury St. Edmunds, IP28 7DE, England ("we", "us", "our").
By installing or using the app, or using instadreams.com, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your personal data. If you do not agree, please do not use Instadreams.
You must be at least 16 years old to use Instadreams. Instadreams is for personal use, not for business purposes.
2. Words we use
- "Instadreams" or "the service": the Instadreams app for iPhone and Android, the website instadreams.com, and the servers behind them.
- "Account": an account you create with your email address. "Guest": using the app without one.
- "Your content": what you put into Instadreams, such as your recordings and notes.
- "Generated content": what the service makes from your content for you, such as transcripts, titles, tags, written-up dreams and images.
3. What Instadreams does
Instadreams is an alarm clock and a voice dream journal. You record a dream by speaking, and the service turns the recording into text, tidies it up, gives it a title and tags, and makes an image of it, using AI services described in our Privacy Policy.
- AI makes mistakes. Generated content can mishear words, invent details or miss the point of a dream. Your original recording is kept so you can check what you said.
- Instadreams does not interpret dreams and is not medical, psychological or therapeutic advice. If your dreams or sleep worry you, please talk to a doctor or another qualified professional.
4. The alarm
We work hard to make the alarm reliable. But whether an alarm rings is ultimately up to your phone: a low or dead battery, the phone being switched off, operating system updates, battery-saving modes, Focus or Do Not Disturb settings, volume settings, permissions you or your phone's maker turn off, and other things outside our control can stop or delay it.
Do not rely on Instadreams as your only alarm when missing a wake-up could cause you real harm or loss, for example for a flight, an exam, work, medication or caring for someone. Set a second alarm for those days. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for losses caused by an alarm that did not ring, rang late or rang at the wrong time.
5. Accounts and guest use
- You can use Instadreams as a guest, without an account. Exporting your dreams and deleting everything at once need an account.
- If you create an account, give a real email address that you control, and keep your password private. You are responsible for what happens under your account; tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it.
- One person per account. Do not create accounts for other people or share yours.
- As a guest, your dreams are linked to your phone. If you lose or reset the phone, or uninstall the app, we cannot recover them for you.
6. Your dreams and content
You own your content. We do not claim ownership of your recordings, notes or dreams. As far as we have any rights in the generated content made for you, we give them to you: you may keep, use and share it for personal purposes.
So that we can run the service, you give us permission to store, copy, process and show your content and generated content, and to send it to the service providers listed in our Privacy Policy, only to provide Instadreams to you. This permission is worldwide and free of charge, and it ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies in backups until they expire, as our Privacy Policy explains. We do not use your content to advertise, and we do not let AI providers train on it.
You are responsible for your content. In particular:
- Only record yourself, and only where you are allowed to record.
- Dreams often mention other people. Keep what you record and share about others respectful and lawful.
- When you share a dream or a share card, you choose to make it public, and you are responsible for that choice.
AI images can sometimes resemble existing works or real people by accident. Generated content may not be unique, and other people may receive similar results.
7. Using Instadreams fairly
Please do not:
- use Instadreams for anything illegal, or to harass, threaten or harm anyone;
- try to make the service generate unlawful content, or content that sexualises minors in any way;
- record other people without their permission;
- try to get around the free allowance or other limits, for example by creating many accounts or guests;
- access the service by automated means, scrape it, or use it to build a competing product;
- try to break, overload, probe or bypass the security of the service, or reverse-engineer the app, except where the law allows you to;
- pretend to be someone else, or use someone else's account.
If you break these rules, we may remove content, limit your use, or suspend or close your account (see section 11).
8. Free use and paid features
- Recording, transcription, write-up, titles, your archive and search are free. The free plan includes 15 dream images a month. Past that, your dreams are still saved, written up and titled. We may change the free allowance; if we reduce it, we will tell you in the app first.
- We plan to offer paid features later, such as comics. If we do, you will see what you get and the price before you pay, and you will buy through the App Store or Google Play. Their terms then govern payment, billing, renewals, cancellation and refunds, and refund requests go to them.
- Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer, such as your rights under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015 or your right to cancel a purchase where it applies.
9. What belongs to us
The app, the website, their design and code, and the Instadreams name and logo belong to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, for your personal use, while you follow these terms. You may not copy, sell or redistribute any of it.
If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them freely, without owing you anything.
10. Changes to the service
We keep improving Instadreams, so features will change. If we remove something important, or stop the service altogether, we will give you reasonable notice, at least 30 days where we can, so you can export your dreams.
11. Ending the agreement
- You can stop at any time. Delete your account in the app, or, as a guest, delete your dreams and uninstall the app.
- We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if the law requires us to, or if your use puts other people or the service at risk. Unless the law or safety prevents it, we will tell you why and give you a chance to export your dreams first.
- When the agreement ends, we delete your data as our Privacy Policy describes. Sections 6 (the parts about responsibility for content), 9, 12, 13, 14, 17 and 18 continue to apply.
12. What we promise, and what we don't
We will provide Instadreams with reasonable care and skill. Beyond that, and to the extent the law allows, the service is provided "as is" and "as available": we do not promise that it will always be available, free of errors or secure, that generated content will be accurate, or that nothing will ever be lost. Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose; you can export your dreams at any time.
If you are a consumer, you have legal rights that these terms cannot take away, for example under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015 or the consumer laws of your country. Nothing in this section limits them.
13. Our liability to you
- What we never exclude: our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not let us exclude or limit.
- Foreseeable loss: if we break these terms, we are responsible for loss you suffer that was a foreseeable result of it. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, or for business losses: Instadreams is for personal use.
- Things outside our control: we are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as failures of your phone, its operating system, internet providers or our service providers.
- A cap: apart from what we never exclude, our total liability to you is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for Instadreams in the 12 months before the claim and £100.
14. Your responsibility to us
If you use Instadreams in breach of these terms or the law, and someone makes a claim against us because of it, you are responsible for the reasonable losses and costs that this causes us, as far as the law allows.
15. If you got the app from Apple
If you downloaded Instadreams from Apple's App Store, these points also apply:
- These terms are between you and us, not Apple. We, not Apple, are responsible for the app and its content.
- Your licence to use the app is limited to Apple-branded devices you own or control, as allowed by the App Store's Usage Rules.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
- If the app fails to meet any warranty that applies, you may tell Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) for the app. To the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for dealing with any claims about the app, including product liability claims, claims that it fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, and consumer protection or privacy claims.
- If anyone claims that the app or your use of it infringes their intellectual property, we, not Apple, are responsible for dealing with that claim.
- You confirm that you are not in a country subject to a US government embargo or designated as supporting terrorism, and are not on any US government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
Questions and complaints about the app go to us: see section 19.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when the service or the law changes. We will update this page and its date, and for changes that matter to you we will tell you in the app or by email at least 30 days before they take effect, unless the law or safety requires a faster change. If you keep using Instadreams after that, the new terms apply. If you do not agree, you can stop using Instadreams and delete your account.
17. General
- If a court decides part of these terms is invalid, the rest stays in force.
- If we do not enforce a right straight away, we can still enforce it later.
- We may transfer this agreement to someone else, for example if our business is sold; we will tell you, and it will not reduce your rights. You may not transfer it without our permission.
- These terms and our Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about Instadreams.
- Apart from Apple as set out in section 15, nobody else has rights under these terms.
18. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your own courts. If you live in the EU or elsewhere, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live, and you can bring proceedings in your local courts.
If you have a problem, please write to us first. We will try to sort it out with you within 30 days.
